Choosing a St Louis senior living community can be challenging and perhaps a little overwhelming at times. In order to make the search a little easier, we have included some questions often heard from other seniors. Who is qualified to become a Resident at The Rockwood?
You and/or your spouse must be age 62 or better and financially able to meet the terms of the Residency Agreement. View our Self Assessment Worksheet.
Are pets allowed at The Rockwood?
Yes with restrictions as to size, type and temperament, see our additional services. Please call The Rockwood for more information about our Pet Policy.
Is The Rockwood a Smoke Free Environment?
Yes, smoking is only allowed outside in the designated smoking area.
Are guest meals available for my family or friends?
Your family and friends are always welcome to join you for a meal in the Thistle Tea Room. We do ask that you call a few hours ahead so the Chef can plan for your guests. See our additional services page
Can you provide us assistance in making moving arrangements?
We have a move-in coordinator who can assist you with everything from deciding how your furniture will fit in your new living room to helping with the selection of a moving company. Learn more about our Moving Made Easy Program.
What kind of services do you provide?
The Rockwood can do everything from driving you to the doctor’s office to arranging for a personal shopper. With only 29 senior apartments, we can provide personalized services second to none. Our Service motto is Anything, Anywhere, Anytime SM .

What do I do if my health needs change in the future?
The Rockwood Supportive Service Program will arrange for Home Health, Companion or Live-In Services as needed in your own apartment. You are free to select the Home Health, Companion or Live-In Services of your choice* as outlined in the Residency agreement. The Rockwood does have provider relationships and will recommend and assist in the coordination of services.

* Although the Rockwood Supportive Services Program has home health care providers with whom we have worked and can highly recommend, you are certainly welcome to choose the provider that you most prefer. We have excellent working relationships with many of the local home health providers and you always have the final say in who provides for your care.
How do you pay to live at The Rockwood?
At The Rockwood, we believe in giving our senior residents an easier lifestyle option including a Straight Rental Plan (Rent & Monthly Services). The all-inclusive rent makes it easier for seniors and families to understand and peace of mind that there is not a myriad of unexpected monthly fees.
